Access control system BioSmart structure chart Access control system BioSmart is a network distributed system with users' access rights demarcation. It can be extended in case of need and is opened for integration with other devices. Networking is organized with the use of RS485 interface, existing Ethernet leased circuits or GSM format cellular networks. BioSmart controllers are united in RS485 main line (up to 255 pcs.). For PC connection USBRS485, LANRS485, GPRSRS485 interface converters are used.
Access control system BioSmart principle of operation Registration of users is carried out with the help of BioSmart Studio Software and control reader plugged-in through the USB port of a personal computer. It is possible to register about 10 fingerprints for each user, thus only mathematic templates of fingerprints are putted in a database that makes impossible a return reconstruction of fingerprints' graphic presentation. Further the user is given rights of access to the particular points of pass, thus encoded templates of fingerprints are transmitted by circuits to the BioSmart controller and further are kept there aside from a computer. When a user applies a finger to the scanner of the BioSmart controller, a search of registered templates in the controller database is occurred. At a successful identification the BioSmart controller generate a signal to relay control unit via secure digital circuit which is by-turn switches on execution units (electromagnetic locks, turnstiles and etc.).Thus the possibility of an unauthorized access by means of wire bridging or control signal imitation is excluded. At a successful identification appropriate information is registered in a log book. In case of unsuccessful identification or prohibition of pass information is also registered. BioSmart Controller can work together with external sensors. For this purpose two quantized inputs are provided on the control unit. The first quantized input is used to connect remote exit button. The second quantized input can be used to connect door opening sensor, turnstile sensor and fire alarm. All events on external sensors are also registered in a log book.

INTEGRATION Pic. Example of Wiegand interface exit usage For integration with other manufacturer's devices BioSmart controller card has Wiegand interface input and output working in the range of 26 to 40 bit. The Wiegand interface output allows BioSmart controllers to be integrated in any control and access control system. In case of successful fingerprint identification BioSmart controller transfers the code similar to the card code to the controller of off-site monitoring and access control system. By-turn access control system controller decides about right of access and signals to an execution unit. Thus the charges for replacement of existing card system to the biometric one are greatly reduced. It is enough to replace only readers while controller, employees database, execution units and cable paths rest the same. The Wiegand interface input allows you to connect proximity card reader or dialing panel to BioSmart controller. Such a mode can be used for two-factor identification in controlled-access facilities or for lock regime arrangement, i.e. at first a user has to apply the card or input the password and then apply a finger to the BioSmart controller. The most widespread solution is arrangement of visitors' access by cards while employees use fingerprints. There is a possibility of integration with burglar alarm.
